Without further ado, another inspiring camper transformation! Take it away, Julie and Laura: We are identical twin sisters, are both registered nurses, both married, and we are mothers to three little boys collectively. Ever since we were teenagers and we watched the cult classic The Long Long Trailer with Lucille Ball, we have dreamed of having a little camper turned glamper to call and make our own.
We bought our camper in the winter of 2015 with the intent to not only be use the camper for camping, but to also make it our craft studio/ guest house on the side of the mountain where we were raised.
We fondly named our little camper Maisie Toot, after our grandmothers.
The camper is a 21ft Forest River Surveyor SV210. It has two bunk beds, once a full size, one a small twin. The dinette transforms into a large queen bed when needed. There is a galley kitchenette, a fridge, a even a full bathroom complete with a bathtub and vanity. There is ample storage space and lots of windows to let the natural light flood in.
When we got the camper, it was a typical dated, cookie cutter camper circa 2005, complete with dated upholstery, decor, and paneling. Our mission was to turn this sad, little, prefab camper into a full blown glamper of our dreams. It had good bones. That was the most important thing to us.
